Colorado Rocky Mountain Chapter
MOLO Certification Training
Dates: September 20–23, 2010
Location: Vail, Colorado
Course Objective: To provide professionals involved in the daily management of municipal solid waste landfills with the basic information to run a successful operation.
Course Content: This 3-day course consists of presentations by SWANA landfill certified instructors, classroom exercises, case studies, and a tour and field exercise at a local landfill.
MOLO Highlights:
- Summary of regulations impacting landfill owners and operators.
- Descriptions of the most recent advances in landfill operations equipment, alternative cover materials, leachate treatment systems, and landfill gas control techniques.
- Discussion of controversial and potentially problematic waste streams faced by landfill operators, including debris from terrorist attacks, diseased animals, treated wood, electronic devices, and gypsum drywall.

Election of Officers and Directors
Click here for a ballot for the election of 2010–2011 Beehive Chapter Board Members. Board members are elected for a two-year term with four of the seven positions open this year. Ballots must be mailed by August 31, 2010.
Election results will be announced at the annual meeting and picnic, which is scheduled for September 9, 2010. A newsletter will be sent within the next few weeks detailing the location and time of the annual meeting and picnic.
